great shout on the digits - killer
Wondered why Headless Cross got me like it did and it turns out I didn't know it but I needed "Evil Whitesnake" in my life.
That Capitalist Alienation LP reissue is new art by Away too I suspect. I think that's cool. His style has changed I suppose, but he did the last Jaded Eyes record, it's similar. I think we got lucky ❤
The Crewd tunes on 'Men Were Men Sheep Were Nervous' are borderline hair metal... Quite a shock after that killer 12" EP.
Great show Mike... Big hello to Dave, from Chris Noiseisforheroes... I drove Career Suicide on their first UK tour it was just great x Spazm151 to kick off dude, fantastic band, that record destroys. They could really play.
Cheers Chris off the telly!
@@AnalogAttack 😂.. played with Bishops Green at the 'festival that shall be not be named' in Blackpool ... Ate lunch with them and they were nice guys... I watched them after we finished and the unique vocals kinda had a 999 feel... Templars were great, Every now and then a Streetpunk band nails it...♥️ Panic record is fantastic, and Dave mentioned the mind blowing Raxola album... I remember the Philippino scene reports too, intrigued, I gotta get those records.
5 minutes in and I have to react: Captain Beyond!!! One of THE best hard/heavy/prog rock ever. One of the best 70s record. Period. Absolutely essential! Your guests don't seem to be familiar with it, judging by their reaction. 🙂
100% all time classic!
Life...But How to Live it Guitarist was Roger Andersson also of Drunk, Danger!Man, Barn Av Regnbuen
Thank you!!
I always thought the Close to the Edge cover looked like a tribute to Yes’ Fragile.
Me too!
With a guest appearance of the octopus from the Gentle Giant LP cover.
@@pedrogordo5122 haha yes!
Johnny the Fox is the best Thin Lizzy album by far,an absolute masterpiece.
Overkill = "The Motörhead of Thrash Metal." So true. 😄👍
Thanks Diane!
Coffin ? Is Mike talking about when klonn
It was Kruelty I was trying to remember!
Hard Charger are local boys from Fredericton.. Knew the drummer back when he was only 12.
PICKLE 😍
Both Joy Division and the Sound are great bands. I'm amazed you don't like JD, because The Sound was heavenly influenced by JD. I think Adrian was a better singer, but as a band JD was more inventive, but that's allright. I totally agree an your view on The Comsat Angels. Their first three brilliant albums are not on Spotify and that is a shame. You should listen to the Gentry from Holland. One of John Peel favorite bands from the Netherlands. I 'm sure you like that band.
Damn all star crew.
As always Will! Haha
David Vanian (singer of the Damned) is married to Patricia Morrison. Too many beers had me bastardized his name with Tom Verlaine (singer for Television). Sorry 😂
Haha
There's a band from England who sounds like Black Sabbath with John Lennon as singer. I'm buggered if I can remember their name right now. Can anyone help?
Why are there no comments on this episode?
Good question, especially after such a great episode 🤔
I love the community around the Sound. Big love to you all. Great Vid, mate.
Love this Band so much .....have all all Vinyls to. Great music & From The Lions Mouth is my alltime record ❤
Gary Panter (the Plugz artist) also did the logo for the Screamers and a lot for Slash Magazine as well as art for the Residents and Frank Zappa. He was also at the time married to Nicole Panter, manager of the Germs. Another fun fact: Kmbra Pfahler's, from Karen Black, brother is the drummer in Jawbreaker.
YES!! Hardcore Showcase LP!! Love Sendai HC, 'Give Us The Time to Play' double 7 inch comp is great too.
It is! Gang Thrust!
I'm with you on the new Kriegshog. I have all of their records. More often than not when a band "progresses or evolves" I feel like they lose a bit of what made me love them first place. Not with this. Not even a little bit. I flew down to Melbourne to see them this past weekend at the Hardcore Victim weekender. Different sets for Fri & Sat shows. Absolutely mind blowing.
It really is a killer lp!!
Love Soggy, crazy the singer was a bank robber and lived in exile for so long.
Wild! Didn’t know that!
All the Bishops Green is worth getting. Never disappoint.
BC Bovver comp is great too.
Philippine Violators "At Large" was first released as a cassette on Twisted Red Cross. That was the first label in the Philippines run by Tommy Tanchanco. Didn't know the mob connection. Love Woody's Accidente pick. Great band from Madrid.
Proper re-issue of Quod Massacre early recordings will be out on Doomtown records sometime this year. It will include a booklet for sure :)
That's great news! Thank you!!
The politeness is sickening in this episode! I have had the pleasure to buy/trade with these three fine Canadians. Great episode. Bought a Dead Ends LP, and the Kriegshög whilst watching.
Cheers!!!
Quod Massacre: Ljubljana, Slovenia former republic of YU
Such a great band!
Home of Laibach!
Mike, you absolutely MUST check Polska Malca, 2227, Strelnikoff. All from Slovenia@@AnalogAttack
The Crewd were on a Mystic comp called You Can't Argue With Sucksess
Cheers, Grant!
Why does the majority of America seem to be talking as if they are all 12 years old..... ? The constant use of the word LIKE makes anything hard to listen to. You don't have to explain every paragraph. Like. Dig your channel but I get pissed with it all. Listen back to yourself, I dare you. 🖖
okay, boomer.
Like chill, daddy
Looking up the new Stalin live album I saw it was Vol. 2, vol. 1 is from the same gig and it’s Hijokaidan. That’s two records to track down. Alchemy and P-Vine have been killing it with these reissues.
Truly. I think Jojo Hiroshige is excavating his archives.
Uzi record is phenomenal
Agreed!!
The Sound was one of those post punk bands that really "rocked out" in the conventional sense. Rocked harder than their contemporaries inclueding Joy Division which never really "rocked out" weren't really a "rock hard" band, The Sound was that band that would rock hard live and on record, sounded like the more energetic post-punk revival bands only 20 years earlier. Its kind of a wonder how they never broke through, being relatively conventional rockers in the likes of the Stooges and Roxy Music with a darker tinge. Looks were very important in music (still are) they weren't a band of pretty boys add to that Adrian's mood swings leaving a deep mark on the music made it not so digestible as the Bunnymen, The Cure et al. I love New Order, instrumentally Joy Division were great the singer sounding like a 65 year old with early onset dementia (even tho he was in his early 20s) really held them back. They were getting mad promotion in 79-80 I just dont get it, the music's fine tho.
Love Bad Breeding, last time I saw them the new drummer was on fire
Yes!! Get Tom Lyle on!!
I am pretty new to The Sound and Comsat Angels, both are soooo good!
recordações de vinil

Die owan and Pesd were the highlights of this episode. Discovering new music is one of the greatest things of life (at least for me lol)
Thanks, man!
PESD is the most underrated release on Prank. Love it!!!!!
@@garyknifed Fantastic!!
Sad but true . Females decide who will became a star .
His Hero Is Gone all time favorite crust punk✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼 Shit List my second best
New Italian hardcore: GOLPE!
Good call!!
I thought of them too. They've just played in my hometown while I was away 😭
JD overrated??? Completely nuts. I love The Sound, but JD were another level.
Best one yet!
Well this episode was a pleasant surprise! You can call it "7 Degrees Of Kevin Bacon" or "All Canadians know each other". Either or. Fifth Column played my sleepy little town (Fredericton) at a campus bar for a college radio conference. Naturally there's always that one fuckin' guy with a "Show me your t*ts!" comment who after being dressed down by the band (and pretty much the entire crowd), was escorted out of the venue by the security. They didn't have the album with them, but they did have both the Donna/All Women Are B*tches* single and the split with Trailer Queen which I happily snapped up. I chatted with them at the radio station and were just awesome people. I was also quite impressed that Caroline looked exactly like an actress who played a THRUSH spy on the old Girl From U.N.C.L.E. TV series. The drummer from Warkrusher is from Fredericton and also plays in Crust & Roll band, Hardcharger. The whole time I'm watching I'm thinking "I know Emma from somewhere...sure enough I've met her a few times: Over at Hardcharger's band house (the infamous Maniac Mansion that hosted such insane gigs as Dayglo Abortions, Acidez, Saccage, etc...) and also when we were one of the few Canadian bands that opened for The Circle Jerks and 7 Seconds on their Canuck leg of their 2022 tour.
Cooch busting out the BONZERS at the end 🤣
Here it is! That Poison record rules.
One of my all time favourites out of Japan
